Boost control from externali air supply

Hi
Would it be possible to control boost using the ECU and a 4 port valve using an external air souce to the solenoid (say 30 Psi max) instead of the usual way of sourcing the supply air from the turbo.
This would help in my application as i need to have good control of the wastegate while boost is low without using a strong spring
