hi, I'm planning to ditch my ignition key/barrel and wondering if there is any way to use the can keyboard as the ignition?

looking to use one button to power up the pmu then a second button for the starter motor?

is this possible? as i see the pmu needs a switched live to turn on so was wondering if the pmu has a clever way around that?

also trying to figure out how to setup a master retry/reset button on the keyboard too but i cant make much sense of it in the manual

thanks

Hi,

(EDIT: updated links to images)

PMU needs a power supply on the Ignition Switch to operate. So it's impossible to wake up the single PMU by the keyboard.

In two PMUs setup, the first PMU with a connected keyboard can activate the second one by powering its ignition switch.

About the Master Retry. Please find below how to set it up:
1. You need to define the keyboard button of type Indicator and connect pmu.status as the input channel.
2. You need to set the Master Retry Channel in Global Outputs Settings

Here is an example of the starter, that I programmed. It is pretty cool and advanced. Basically it is a one butten push automatism. Have a look at it. Normal operation:
  1. Power Button -> Starter Button turns orange and is "ready"
  2. Push starter Button -> coils turn on and starter output on
  3. Starter Button -> turns green when engine runs and starter output goes off
  4. When engine stalls, button turns red and another push to reset to orange "ready"
  5. when engine runs, push button to kill ign and engine turns off.
