2jz vvti coil packs
Has anyone used 2jz vvti coil packs, with no ignitor, wired directly to the ecu?....i'm in the middle of building my harness and wondering if the drivers on the emu are strong enough for a simple single turbo 2jz....thank you

The stock VVTi uses Wastespark, so you need to charge each coil twice every work cycle. This stock coils are not so fast, and i already experienced problem with them. Higher DWELL times ends with RPM sertriction, lower DWELL end with missfire.
I decided me to go always with BOSCH COPs and it makes me the Life much easier, no need to use this 20-25years old crap (stock coils), and end with absolutly no trouble on ignition system.
So basicly, you can use your stock coil, with or without ignitor ... its up to you, but i dont recommend them at all.
I sold my old ignitor and coils for more money what did me cost new Bosch six-pack .
