BMW M54 Dual Vanos

Post by Bimmer » Mon Mar 21, 2016 8:56 pm

Im right now working on wiring of my M54 stock wiring loom to make in capable with EMU. I saw that some BMW has build in diode in vanos plug and needs to change polarity. However in my plug(on picture) there is only two wires entering plug and no diode in there, i have pretty same socket as i have on injectors... So question is where diode can be located ? and in attachment is wiring diagram of my stock siemens MS43 ECU and there you can see that from ECU to vanos is going ground wire and 12v wire is coming from main relay , that means that vanos is controlled by ground ? Hope somebody can help me out.

No built in diode, just connect the - to AUX.

Ok so if i have only one solenoid per cam i connect as standart VVTI system with diode (diagram), not like double vanos ? Also if you already answered me do you know if m54b30 has ignition coils with or without amplifier (picture) ?

Exactly. The coils are without amplifiers.
