Throttle Lag from idle

Post by chrisqy757 » Thu Apr 07, 2016 8:17 pm

Hello,
i recently tuned a SR20det engine running ecumaster and the car made good horsepower on dyno but when the car is in idle and you instantly press on the throttle there is a big delay for the rpm to pick up. I tried the acceleration enrichment and went over the forum to see if there is something that i am missing but no luck. Are there any suggestions something i might be missing on the map? Any help is much appreciated

When you stab the throttle, where does the wideband go? Does it go lean?

Either you need more work on your tables, or you lack your accel enrichment tables.

SR20s need a lot of accel enrichment. You can also add some fuel to the VE table in the load cells above idle, that way the enrichment isn't doing all the work. Accel enrichment depends on a lot of factors. Cams, injectors, throttle body size, etc. Don't be afraid to double (or more) the values in some of the accel enrichment tables, especially if you're using E85.

Your ACC CLT factor is wrong. You should have numbers close to 100 not 20. You can also use full group acc enrichment and raise your enrichment limit from 100 to maybe 150.

You have very high VE numbers. are you running E85 with 950cc injectors?

hello thanks for the replies, i did some correction to the map and changed the ACC CLT table as suggested. What really made a difference was enable the RPM vs Throttle map in Fueling and adjust the fuel depending on throttle %.

hello again,
after playing with the RPM vs TPS fuel table i was able to make the throttle more responding but in doing so i am now having rich fuel when cruising at i.e. 4th gear low rpm.
Does anyone have like a base map for silvia sr20 so that i can have a look at all of the parameters and acc enr tables to see what im doing wrong here? Thanks

Go to your log, and find the enrichment tab.

See if Acc Enrich is coming on when you're at steady throttle.

If it is, go to your Accel Enrich parameters, and move the DTPS% HIGHER.

Hi, try to set-up injectors calibration in other way...What is the pressure of rail?
In my set-up, ad 1200rpm, Ve is 60% max! When i go fast and close idle, at hi rpm and low pressure in intake, the AFR was very poor. I solved thi problem with a correct inj-cal with my working pressure rail.
Tell us progress!

Subscribing.. I also have this presently. I have just started the car back and I find the rpm lags when I throttle in. So I added values in the VE table around the area now it doesnt have the delay but Im running rich at idle like 11 AFR. If I want to smooth it out by leaning it out it will have the lag on the rpm. I prefer to have it respond right away having a rich afr. Now where do I go to lean it out? Im not a tuner and Im new to this but I prefer to DIY things, this one is something I'd like to explore :)
