No trigger signal

Post by Alex » Sun Apr 10, 2016 8:16 pm

Hey guys,

i have a Problem with my Setup.
Yesterday i would start the engine first time after installation.
First I have checked the signal on primary trigger and I don't have any scope.
I use a 60-2 trigger wheel and a Bosch motorsport VR-sensor 0261210136.
Here the things I've checked:
- check using the right pins B7 and B18
- choosing different air gap (Bosch tolerance 0,8 +/- 0,3)
- using a bypass wiring to exclude failure in wiring
- using another VR-Sensor
- check Setup (VR-Sensor, tooth wheel with 2 missing teeth, number of cylinders, enable scope and so on)
But I don't get it running.
No matter what primary trigger setup I have choose, I think I have to see some scope but there's nothing.

Today I measured the VR-Sensor signal with a osziloscope, see attached foto.
I think this signal is very fine, round about 7V and you see the two missing teeth.

Is it possible that I have a failure inside the EMU?
Or are there things I have to check too?

Hope you can give some tips
Kind regards
Alex

Did you activate the scope under primary trigger and used the "get scope data" button?

Yes, i did enable scope in primary trigger settings and push the "get scope data" Button while cranking.

If the amplitude is 7V try to choose HALL instead of VR. There is different electrical path inside EMU for HALL

And please recheck if you connect signal to right EMU pins (sensor ground and signal input)

I think you connected everything backwards.
This is the correct way.

Thanks for your answers, yes the amplitude is 7V.
I will try it with HALL settings, should I activate the pull-up?

Thanks for the picture, but I realized the right connector numbering from backwards before.
It was connected in the right way before I try to start the engine first time.
I think the pins are all correctly because all other sensors (MAP, CLT, IAT) working very fine.

I tryed to see a scope with the HALL settings, thanks for your tip.
And I get a scope signal, picture will follow.
But now what is wrong with my VR settings, the Bosch sensor I describe above is definitely a VR Sensor?
Is there a failure with the electrical path inside the EMU?
