IAT, CLT WIZARD PROBLEM

Post by Omibi » Mon Apr 04, 2016 1:45 pm

Hi,
I'm trying to setup IAT and CLT sensors with the wizard but is not working. I open the calibration table, the IAT table for instance, open the wizard and set 3 operation points, for IAT I'm using the following values, 25ºC-->2000 ohm, 40ºC--> 1112 and 85ºc-->264 ohm, when I click ok in the wizard, the calibration table remains the same, every voltage values to 0ºC. What am I doing wrong?

Regards

are you changing the very first line, [Predefined sensors] to "USER DEFINED"?

if not, that's probably why and its just reverting to whatever sensor is currently still selected

I've tested your data and everything works ok.
However you should get wider sample points temperature range (eg. 0 C) and 100 C

Are you sure jadzwin that it works with those values? I have being testing and I realised that keeping the second and third points as in the post ( 50º--> 1112 ohm, and 85º--> 264 ohm), if I set the first point to 20º, the wizard sets all values of the IAT table to zero for resistance values below 3200 ohm. If I set the temperature point to 25, the same thing happens to resistance values below 2700 ohm. I tested it with emu 1.163exp1 version both in xp32 sp3 and windows 10 64 home.

know that it is better to get a wider sample, but those are a very well measured points and I wanted to start with them.

Thanks.

¿Has someone try the values above with the wizard? I'm still having problems. Another faulty set of values: 0ºC -->6046, 50ºC-->775, 100ºC-->176.

Hi!

What are OEM numbers of the sensor ?

The wizard required quite precise values to calculate the proper voltage curve. Probably those values are out of the NTC thermistor curve...

The sensors I'm using are manufactures by FAE, water sensor is FAE 33010(BMW OEM 13 62 1 284 397), IAT is FAE 33165 (BMW OEM 13 62 1 725 323), and oil sensor is FAE 33155 (BMW OEM 13 62 1 433 076).

I used the wizard for the sensors. I measured the resistance of different temperatures and tried values with the wizard until I had three values that were working with the wizard. At the begining I thought it was working ok, but after the first race I think I'm having wrong readings. Where can I get the data for this sensors? The manufacturer has nothing on the web.

Thanks.

The sensors should be originally made by Bosch because BMW...
If another manufacturer makes a replacement they have to use the same ntc, otherwise the calibration is wrong.

as there's is not mutch to choose from:
Coolant: http://www.bosch-motorsport.com/media/c ... 739pdf.pdf
Intake Air: http://www.bosch-motorsport.com/media/c ... 379pdf.pdf

It should be the same ntc in both.
