Bugs and Feature reqests
This has been mentioned before by someone else..... can the TPS resolution be increased??
1 degree jump is too much with big throttle bodies 0-1% and 1-2% can see big AFR changes as the load point jumps from one cell to the next makes tuning inconsistent.

Any Chance for a compare Option in Datalogging very usefull when working on Knock & Ignition.

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Is there a way to write a table that can decrease ignition timing after a certain duration of time chosen by the tuner. The tuner would also have enough control to determine how much timing to pull and even control ignition timing in a curve possibly. Basically what I am trying to accomplish is have the ability to ramp the timing curve down in 5th or 6th gear on long high speed pulls. The problem with the control by gear is some manual transmissions like mine don't have sensor for every gear. By incorporating such a feature this could prevent ALOT of melt downs on long pulls that may have no knock in 4th(5spd) 5th (6speed) however in that final gear it is such a long gear you can often develop knock.
Any suggestions?

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
I downloaded the latest version from the site, went ahead to upgrade the firmware, procedure started normal and went normal, at the 2nd stage where it does a verification or something it threw me this message, and now i can't connect to the box, the software is shutting down. What do i do?

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Bringing this back on as it seems noone noticed :
You could offer the posibility for a second air temperature sensor, let's call it airbox temperature sensor or ambient air temperature sensor, along with the main iat sensor placed on the inlet manifold. So we can set the blend between these two sensors in the chargetemp table, instead of the coolant temp sensor. The coolant temp is more or less stable during all year and weather, so when we use the chargetemp table and set the clt sensor influence more the fuel calculations, we virtually just chose to ignore the iat sensor for whatever reason. Two air temperature sensors will be much better for fuel calculations and can completely solve all the problems that come from iat sensors that are heatsoaking and give false readings to the ecu at low loads, rpm and speeds.

Hello dear EMU-Team,
i wish some feautures, so i do not know how many work is neccesary to implement these, but here is my wish list:
I have a V12 from BMW, so i would like to use one EMU control unit for each bank, but i want to use only one of:
- crankshaft sensor
- camshaft sensor
- IAT sensor
- CLT sensor
so it would be very nice, if emu could comunicate with antoher one, to transmit the signals via CAN oder serial port??
Is that possible?

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
With firmwares after 1.161 there is problem with launch controll retard, launch controll work like rev limiter without retard and cant build boost at all.
Good feature in software will be to remove ignition retard what is delta from main ignition map in the moment, and replace it with exact(static) ignition angle what tuner can enter, that way boost on start line can be more precisely controlled

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
You could use the second ignition map and switch to map 2 using one of the virtual inputs, the virtual input can be switched by using one of the internal timersduncan351 wrote:Is there a way to write a table that can decrease ignition timing after a certain duration of time chosen by the tuner. in firmware version 1.165 there is a new option to set wastegate DC overide for launch control, hopefully that will help

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Most of the cars i made have external boost controll, because owners like to set the boost on the track and to set the boost in EMU is difficult for all of them so they preffer simple boost controller like Profec B Spec II......to use second ignition map is option, but still most easy way is to impement "LC ignition angle" i.e static ignition angle used on LC only and to correct firmware because in the moment it have a bug

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
I think you can use analog input and potentiometer or rotational switch for Boost change using EMU. I did never ever used external boost controler after installing Ecus like MOtec, Haltech, EMU .......... they all work better then every external BC. Why ? Because they know what is your engine doing.
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Absolute correct, but when the client want to set the boost himself, easy way is to use external boost controllerKarel wrote:I think you can use analog input and potentiometer or rotational switch for Boost change using EMU. Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Hi.
It would be really helpful, if the analog value sent through the serial data stream (ECUMaster serial protocol) was the calcutated value and not just the voltage.
I've connected an accelerometer (0-3.3V) to Analog4 and modified the ratio and offset (in sensor setup - analog inputs).
In the client the values are correct but on my dash all I see is voltage from the sensor.
I had to set the input as fuel pressure and rename it in my dash.
And Please fix the import log lambda always 0.00 problem

I would like to have a peak needle on the gauges. Basically when it hits the peak, it leaves a ghost (different colored) needle.
And a way to design your own gauges, to not change the skins, but to change them to bar graphs or whatever.

Variabel Launch
Hi...
Is there a way to make variable launch control, or can it be implemented?
It would be nice to have a function where an analog input could be scaled to final RPM activation/cut via a potentiometer.
It would be a great feature for those who race the 1/4 mile on different tracks (big difference in traction)
Sorry if this is a repost..
Thanks

Re: Variabel Launch
I am doing it with one setting. It makes for example 0,2BAR at 30%TPS, 1BAR at 50%TPS and 1,5BAR at 100%TPS at the same RPM. SO you can adjust amount of power at launch without changing the launch RPM ... this is how i doGybsen wrote:Hi...

With adjusting power level by pedal you will not be consistent in drag racing. You have to floor pedal every time same amount and making adjustments in software. It is suitable for street or amateur level of racing though.

The problem is that the drag cars I have mapped is not with manual transmission. It is with a converter. In stage, the driver pushes the transbrake button to lock the transmission. then he floors the gas pedal. Now this converter is sucking a lot of power and with BIG turbo on 2JZ we need NOS to spool turbo. So if the driver backs off gas pedal, he will lose too much power because of the converter sucking it all, it can be done but very difficult.
Can you make perfect launches at every launch with reducing TPS? This is very difficult to match exactly, say 67% every time??
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Well i should say i am not drag racer.... I have some trophies from 1/4mile but the main time of my racing was HillClimb or Drifting. So there is no talk about automatic gearbox, huge turbo, nos, ..... everything manual box, fast spool, ALS ....
They best solution for the drag racer should be limiting slip by measuring it all the way from start to end. For example comparing the rate of acceleration on each gear or comparing front and rear axle. Depending what can be used.
