Help wanted on this one!
Hello,
My plan is to fit the EMU on a Mitsu Colt circuit car.
Now it has a electronic throttle, is the function 'drive by wire' available on the latest EMU?
Because it says a additional controller is needed somehow? somebody has any experience with the DBW function?
Cheers

Hi!
EMU has very sophisticated DBW strategy based on 3D PID.
However it require external DBW module that is connected to one AUX / INJ output.
Actually there is DBW wizard for the most popular throtles.

Re: Help wanted on this one!
Where can i get these DBW module and also the Can module? Is it impossible to go directly from EMU extension port to CanBus?
What kind of protocol comes out of the extension port (pin 2/4)?

Re: Help wanted on this one!
You can buy CAN an DBW module from Ecumaster ( EfiShop will be update with those product soon), just write email on info@ecumaster.com.
There is special EMU with build in Cun bus module, unfortunately emu doesn't support CUNBUS without module.

Re: Help wanted on this one!
So actually I need to buy this DBW module in order to get it working properly.
Won't it work with the stepper motor that is already mounted on the engine from Mitsubishi itself?
Is there any link available to the product or an installation help?
Can't I just drive the module by an auxilary output with analog signal or is this going to be processed to slow?
cheers

Hi!
Here is how the module is connected:

The stepper motor output is limited only to 1A what is too less for electronic throttle.

Hi!
Thanks for the support! Where can I buy this module? Is it available yet?
Gonna connect iet all up in a couple of days. I'll keep the updates coming!
seeing forward to see it running/working tough! It seems a good piece of kit this EMU.

Hi!
I'm from the netherlands, but I know a guy in Poland. So distribution shouldn't be a problem.
Whats the cost of such a module? is the wiring and connectors included?

Hi!
The EMU is fully connected up now, but it won't fire up. It cranks + fuel pump is comming on, but it just wont fire up.
I think its due to my trigger wheel setup. which am I supposed to use here? and do I need to enable the Cam Sync?
Thanks!

Re: Help wanted on this one!
Is this from crankshaft ?
The trigger wheel is untypical 17-1-16-2
We can add this type of trigger wheel but for the end of the next week due to tight work schedule.
What I need is EMU scope trace of primary trigger.
This trigger wheel can be used without cam sync (only wasted spark).
With cam sync you can run with full sequentianl fuel and ignition.

Re: Help wanted on this one!
yep, its from the crankshaft.
the odd thing is I don't get any figures on the EMU scope display.
Reading is done by a Hall-sensor. So I've got
- 5V+ power supply
- Sensor ground
- signal wire to ECU
RPM is given on the gauge on laptop, but no scope signal.
is this all due to the wrong trigger setup?

Go in under primary trigger settings and activate scope and enable pullup.

I've done that, but no succes.
Re: Help wanted on this one!
Post your settings. Are you pressing the " Get scope data " while you are cranking?

Re: Help wanted on this one!
Now finally sorted out the crankshaft signal.
this is the signal from the crankshaft sensor that was pictured above + camshaft signal is also included.
what kind of Cam-sensor setup should I select from the secondary trigger menu?
hope this helps

Re: Help wanted on this one!
We will add support for this trigger.
Re: Help wanted on this one!
I would like to inform we have added the Colt trigger suport and actual tests looks very promising (I mean everything works ok
)
