Bugs and Feature reqests
There is still an issue with VSS & Gearbox Sensor in V 1.172

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Is it possible to have a TPS option in the knock sensor strategy.
I have a large LED cluster that lights up to report knock, this works perfectly apart from every time I come off the throttle at high revs the knock sensor value exceeds the noise threshold and causes the light to illuminate...which is extremely bright and aimed directly at my face for obvious reasons
I would like to be able to tell the ecu to ignore any knock readings when the throttle is released or below a certain figure.
Edward.

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Or when Map is under a certain value. (35kPA or so)
Id like to set my knock engine noise table as low as possible, and my knock control very harsh for safety reasons. (ignition tuning on the road
So, sometimes the spike when i let of the throttle is so big/makes so much retard, that i got Knock related Ignition retard still in the next gear.

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Is there an easy way to save Table files and bring them into Excel?....I would like to smooth out some of my tables. -Thanks
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Smooth out? You have 3D graph and visual 2D!Scooter wrote:Is there an easy way to save Table files and bring them into Excel?....I would like to smooth out some of my tables. -Thanks

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
You can also use E key that smooth out the selected cells
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
E key helps out a lot. I wasn't aware of that. Thanks....Is there any reason why you cannot copy and paste into notepad or excel?
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Τhe EMU lacks fully configurable correction tables for ignition and fueling. You could add one correction table for each segment, that can have fully configurable x and y axxis, so the user can induce correction strategies based on his needs. Most other ECUs offer this.
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
It's always a challenge to balance ease of use with configurability. What kinds of corrections do you want that aren't already available?nickbmw wrote:Τhe EMU lacks fully configurable correction tables for ignition and fueling. Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
For example, one advance correction table that the x and y axxis will be configurable to anything possible, eg gear, rpm, coolant, tps, map, oil temp, oil press. So for instance, we can set the x axxis at gear, set the values 1 to 6, then select y axxis as rpm, and use this table to remove advance in 5th and 6th gear at low rpm. Or use ect vs rpm to remove advance when ect is rising, for example in circuit/track day use.WHPZach wrote:It's always a challenge to balance ease of use with configurability. Or for fueling, set the x axxis to gear, y to rpm, and use the table to add some fuel when in 6th gear and high rpm which means a high speed run. Iat vs rpm, to add fuel when iat is rising at high rpm. Iat vs gear, add fuel when iat is rising at high rpm and in high gears.
All these are just examples ofcourse, having these maps with selectable axxis parameters gives you the chance to make your own strategy per application, depending on the needs.
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
It will come on the PRO. I don't see it necesary on the basic emu. Never had a problem not having it on the current one and still we are wining Swedish Timeattack, drifting and dragracing. The fastest BMW:s in the BMW series has emu without any problems.
But yes i see what you mean! You have to be able to distinguish a entry level ecu against a much more expensive or a motorsport ecu.
The EMU is suppose to be a straight forward ecu for public use.

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
I am mainly looking at competitive ECUs, for example a Haltech 1000 has this feature, as does a Link G4+ Storm. As far as i know the new EMU Black will also not have this featurePSI-Motor wrote:It will come on the PRO. I don't see it necesary on the basic emu. Yes but they lack many other features that EMU has and still they are more expensive with less inputs / outputs, can bus, drive by wire, passive coil support, Haltech has a tiny 250kpa mapsensor.
Non of the above doesn't even have EGT inputs or lambda control built in.
I swapped out MANY Link / Vipec and Haltechs for EMU and all of them are more than satisfied.

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Like you say. EMU is very fast forward ECU. I can do nearly every engine on it , and modify functions at no time even on races, pit-stops etc. It very easy to react on drivers demands. First ECU using tuning software including logger. Many of "TOP" brands like Motec, Pectel, Haltech etc was very distrubing for me to use, because the logging software was separated from tuning software.
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
I am not blaming the EMU guys, i am also happy with it. It is an excellent product. I am just saying these correction tables would be very nice to have, and it is something that is offered by the competition so i think it's not over the top to request something similar. Or at least add it as a feature on the EMu Black
Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
Much of what you've requested can be accomplished by other means than custom axes. For example, the timer functions are excellent for road racing in lieu of what you've asked for with fuel and ignition modification related to gear position. There are several ways around every problem, and the EMU feature set will solve 99% of problems as it sits.nickbmw wrote:I am not blaming the EMU guys, i am also happy with it. Really? Quite a bold statement.Karel wrote:First ECU using tuning software including logger.

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
It would have been great if we could have a frozen value for idle ign. angle. So that the ing. angle would be independent of the ing. map and all other settings that effects ign. Like IAT correction for ign angle.
An "Idle IGN Angle VS CLT" would have been perfect

Re: Bugs and Feature reqests
This is already possible. And you already have a CLT vs idle ignition advance (correction).Sm887 wrote:It would have been great if we could have a frozen value for idle ign. angle.
