Hi all,
I`m in the middle of installing a EMU ECU on my VW Corrado G60, which was running on a Link G1 ECU.
On the Link you could set static timing (on the G60 engine this is 6 degrees) and this made the ignition table showing the actual advance.
Is there such a option with the EMU?

Setting static timing
Re: Setting static timing
You can fix ignition in primary trigger, check it with strobo lamp and adjust it.
Re: Setting static timing
And adjust the trigger input delay if the advance is falling behind at mid-high rpm
Re: Setting static timing
Thanks guys, I`m gonna try that as soon as I got her running, which should be next Saturday

Re: Setting static timing
It runs!
At first I set the number of teeth trigger setting to 8 as the manual says number of teeth including missing. But as I`m using only the 4 window hall sender in my distributor, this resulted in only one plug firing. After I set the number of teeth to two, she fired right up. The suggested setting from the manual is only for crank triggers, as a cam or distributor turns at half the speed.
I set the base timing as followed: marked the 6 degree mark on the flywheel, set my timing gun on 0 degrees, locked the ignition at 6 degree in the trigger options, turned the distributor till it was spot on.
Can someone confirm this is correct? Adjustable timing lights always screw with my mind hahaha.

Re: Setting static timing
easier is to make mark at TDC, set the gun to 0 and lock ignition in EMU to 0
