concerning the emu, my car is running fine since over a year. But since a few weeks my laptop (and other laptops) can not connect to the emu, there is no windows "bombum" sound when plugging the jack in, like normally when an USB device is connected. The computers do simply not recognize that there is something plugged in, wiggling and moving the connectors and bending the cable does not make a change. USB Sticks, etc. are recognized, so the computers ports are good. I checked the cable by measuring its single lines - also OK.
I remember, a while ago I drove my car, turned engine off and ignition on again to tune the emu. I made some changes, maps permanent and turned off the ignition and left the car - nothing strange here. After one hour i started the engine, but it would not rev over 3000. Immediately plugged in the laptop and saw that in my VE table there were some values as high as 6500 (i was only using table 2 back then). I took a picture with my phone: Even if some cells were marked and something hit the "+" button for a while, that could not happen, as the max value you can enter is 400.
I re-uploaded my last safed version - everything fine again. ............COULD there have happened something to my emu/usb connection?
A week later I used the car again, but I was only able to do one more upload and record 7 minutes of log, then the connection dropped. Since then I am on a bit of a blind flight. The engine runs well, everything seems to work, except of the connection.
According to an other thread with USB problems, I now measured that the USB Connector shield has a good ground connection. Any thoughts what I could do? Reinstalling EMU software and drivers did not change a thing.
I am now going to open up my untouched EMU and break its warranty seals, but I assume they are out of date anyhow

I want to check if some USB communication IC literally blew up, and let you know.
Thanks for any helping input
