Toyota Mr2 3sge plug and play EMU

Post by Botasjr » Sat Dec 31, 2016 12:09 pm

hi

im looking for a plug and play system for this engine
i think is a 2nd generation 3sge engine from a Toyota MR2

There is some plug and play adapter for this ecu?
and base map for it?

i need to change the trigguer wheel on this engine, or the original is compatible with the options from EMU?

Some photos of the engine and ecu

Contact Scott at ATS Racing. They are very familiar with 3s engines. I got my EMU from them with the patch harness (PnP) but it is for the 3sgte 2nd gen motor. I assume the pinouts wouldnt be that different.

There is no direct plug and play. The ECus differ sometimes by a few cable positions sometimes, by more. Best approach is to open the ECU and provide the pinout(its written on the board) to someone like ATS.Keep in mind you won't get too much from a 3sge even with EMU. Either swap a 3sgte inside, or just turbo the existing one, although the second option is a bit limited, but still will be a rocket compared to the N/A :)

ok

but for me the big problem could be the configuration on the software for the trigger
is the EMU compatible with the stock trigger system of the toyota?

i think yes, it has "toothed wheel with 2 missing teeth" on trigger type, and then choose 36 in "Num Teeth", this is assuming you have the 36-2 trigger wheel.

It is perfectly compatible. There is a 3sgte map flying around the forum. Find it and take the ignition settings from there. They are the same on 3SGE and 3SGTE. You can open the map via the EMU software, even ,if you don't yet own EMU .

There are dip switches inside the breakout box, I have the PDF. I also have a base map that I used from Scott at ATS and works great as a starting point. I'm on a Gen 3 3SGTE. The ECU connectors may be the same, just the pins may be a little different.
