Twin Distributor
Hello
Car is a Porsche 964RS with two Distributors.
Is it possible that one ignition circuit have different ignition Timing(2°less for example) than the other circuit?
any suggestions?

Is it possible with Elite ECU that on a twin distributor engine the second ignition circuit have an different ignition timing? or an offset for example 2°.
Engine is a Porsche 964RS flat six with 60-2 Trigger

This is not possible on our ECUs sorry. Too few piston applications use split timing to the same cylinder for us to support it.
The only twin distributor engines in common use are the Toyota 1UZ-FE V8's which basically have 4-cylinders run off one distributor and 4 off another. So the two ignition outputs each control only 4-cylinders and there is no desire for split timing. We do support these.

Re: Twin Distributor
In some point there will be a split timing for rotary, Maybe this can be also added.

Re: Twin Distributor
we already discussed it. Becuase we have ign trims... but event. related, not output related....

Re: Twin Distributor
Hello Karel thanks for your answer.
I give it a try. Did you test your setup you have posted?

Re: Twin Distributor
Yes it is a solution but i think in this case i dont have double ignition.(twinspark)
I want on one zylinder for example one spark at20° and the other spark at22° in the same event.

Re: Twin Distributor
You told you have 2 distributors so why do you talk about twinspark ?shrek69 wrote:Yes it is a solution but i think in this case i dont have double ignition.(twinspark)

One coil+one distributor will be associated to ignition output 1
Second coil and distributor to output 2
Whats so hard to understand ?
Re: Twin Distributor
I told that this a Porsche ...sorry that i Forget to told you that Porsche 964 and 993 are Twinspark and they use Twindistributor.
Old Porsche with Twinspark,Twindistributor has two circuitbreaker and they set the ignition timing different. For example they ignite one spark at20° and the other 22°for that zylinder and that event.
I hope it is not so hard to understand?

Re: Twin Distributor
And the "spilt" can be fixed ? Or you need to move it arround ?
I can do any fixed split between two ignition events too.

Re: Twin Distributor
It can be done!!
it will sound a little bit complicated but an interesting challenge and actually its quite straight forward.
First thing you will need to tell the engine it is 12 cylinder and setup your primary trigger so that it has a 30 degrees error, retarded for example
Use the event trims to advance 6 of the ignition events forward 30 degrees to bring your primary spark back to "0"
Then trim the other 6 events back say 28 degrees to give you the 2 degrees split for the second spark ... JOB DONE
