Need help wiring the CKP sensors of Honda Prelude
Hi! I own a Honda Prelude 93 running an OBD1 ecu. I've turbo charged it using 510 cc injectors and Im running DET3 Fuel implant. I need help wiring the CKP sensor inputs so that I can advance and retard timing. I'l be running the injectors independently using Fuel implant. Thanks in advance.
Re: Need help wiring the CKP sensors of Honda Prelude
Here's the information that I have obtained: There are two pin outs for the CKP sensor in the ecu. Pins B15 CKP-P (sensor input) and B16 CKP-M (sensor signal)
When I connect the B16 into Ignition in (DET3 Pin 9) and I connect Bipolar Ignition out (DET3 Pin 5) to B16, car starts but it misfires and the ECU provides a fault code (code 4= faulty CKP sensor wiring or signal). Honda CKP from OBD1 vehicles are VR (variable reluctance) sensors with an inverted voltage fluctuation (the voltage spikes negative first and then positive). Please advice the best connection for Honda vehicles. If DET3 cannot support Honda cars then they lose a significant tuning market. Its a great product, so we would expect an equally great community support.

Re: Need help wiring the CKP sensors of Honda Prelude
I have solved the problem.
For OBD1 Honda Prelude:
Wire from wiring harness that goes to B15 pin of ecu will should be earthed.
Wire from wiring harness that goes to B16 pin of ecu will be used as IGNITION IN for DET3
Connect a wire from DET pin 4 to ecu pin B15
Connect a wire from DET pin 5 to ecu pin B16
Open DET3 Client/Fuel Implant, go to Ignition Configuration and select Honda 12+1, VR adaptive threshold.
