Bad Siemens Deka 630ccm calibration

Post by Michi_w » Sat Sep 23, 2017 12:23 pm

Hey guys,

have an issue with the Deka 630ccm calibration.
Its an BMW M50 Turbo engine. Everything works fine so far.
Now i changed to the Deka injectors. first i used the injector wizard. The idle was very bad. And the VE table looks bad. So i changed the dead time to 1ms on 14V. Now its way better but not perfect. Anyone have experience with that injectors ? With the calibration time ? Maybe the Injector wizard is wrong ? Or i have an other problem ? First i used Bosch injector with 400ccm and everything works fine.
found this data sheet which tells that the turn in time is 1.14ms?

Thanks for your help guys.

Your idle stability, correct mixture or anything else in your tune, is not only question of Injector Death Time.
The actual pulse with is calculated form many factors, but mainly from VE table, IAT + Death time.

You can simply try to find correct value yourself. Run the engine stable at cca 2000-3000RPM , and watch your actual Lambda value. Switch form Squirt once to Squirt Twice per Cycle and try to achieve no change between this two settings. This will give you aproximatly correct value of actual Death Time.

This is just simply DIY method if you dont have correct values provided form Injector supplier, or manufacturer. The values are also affected by many other things, like ambient presure, fuel temperature, air temperature, wire gauge, grounding quality etc...... Basicly you cant never include every factor affecting actual situation.
