Did this progress? One of the best threads on DET 3. Wiring is very easy thanks to this but did you get the car tuned stock? Do you have a basemap for fuel/ignition?

Did you ever do the guide? If not I can write one once I get the car up and running.

And if anyone else is suggesting why not just tune the MAP on piggyback. It's pointless to not make use of ignition timing if you plan on running E85 or lots of boost.

There was no UPDATE from OP, I have tuned multiple cars, But sharing a fuel map is definitely not idea, I can load the file that would work with any 1JZ and 2JZ turbo ECU's.

I still have not had to use the onboard MAP sensor to tune anything higher than 400HP..

IF I want to run E-85 I would just invest money in an EMU Classic or BLACK.

It's true that to do things properly you'll want to go with EMU or any other stand alone ECU. I'm trying to see if DET 3 +injectors is a viable way to do a cheap and easy change to e85 mostly out of curiosity.

I plan to keep the car on the road till autumn so I want to have a a very clear image what I'm doing and then do it properly one time.

I'm doing some chassis work on the car next week and after that I'll first go with DET 3 + 30% bigger injectors and wideband. Which is definitely not an ideal setup but should work somewhat in piggyback mode. Once I get the car running and inspected for e85 I'll change to Fuel Implant mode that brings the problem with the fuel/ign map. Any fuel map for stock injectors (as long as it's DET 3..) and stock turbo's etc. is easy to change and see what might work so I don't have to waste a lot of time and effort for idle maps and low loads so I can get the car properly tuned at a dyno. Ignition map I can get from several sources and go from there and without the ignition advance there is no reason to use e85 in my opinion.

I don't want to waste a few hours of expensive dyno time if there are base maps available for stock car/stock injectors (as is the case for EMU/black). I also don't want to rely on the 20 year old stock ecu for fueling as it's a known problem that it'll go south at some point. with the internal MAP sensor I can get rid of the need for fuel cut defender (you can set the upper limit for MAP voltage, exactly what the fccd does).

If this whole experiment works then I'll happily see how far I can go with a single turbo next summer.

If you do have a map for 1JZ I'd happily see how they look. as I said I'm mostly interested in the idle/cruise/cold start parts of the maps. Fueling should be relatively easy to calculate as long as I know what injectors/fuel pressures the map is for and if it's done with DET 3 in batch fire.

I do have a wideband. I'll also get an EGT sensor if I go single or up the boost. Also sorry for writing a novel
