Newbie connecting up for first time help

Post by tonyg64 » Mon Apr 02, 2018 9:53 am

Hi, Im in the process of converting to EMU from carbs. I am running the car daily and want to minimise downtime when the conversion kicks in :)
I have most things ready (crank trigger, coilpack etc) but my question is, when powering the EMU and its outputs will I need relays?
I have electric pump already with relay.
Is a relay needed for the coil? (wasted spark Ford Zetec type)
How about injectors? Does the signal out from emu to run injectors need a relay?
Are there any other things to consider like idle valve etc?

Thanks

Tony

tony almost all outputs of your emu device are actived by groudning. this means you have a main relay that is turned on by your emu device. this main relay supplys power to injectors, coils etc.
not to be a dick but i think this is all explained in the manual.

Thanks for the reply Rolfts, I must have missed it in the manual then. I'll have another look. So the single relay would power the live side of the injectors and also the live side of coil? That would be easy if so :)

Thanks
