Wiring VAG Coil 715F

Post by gjhome » Mon Mar 02, 2015 5:15 pm

Good day,

I am getting rid of my distibrutor and converting to the shorter VAG coils due to spark blowout on high boost.
I have a question regarding the wiring.

This is what I found regarding the pins.

Pin1: ECU Ground
Pin2: Engine block Ground
Pin3: 12 volts + (switched)
Pin4: Signal from ECU

The first question is pin 1: ECU Ground. Shall I use the B18 Sensor ground? or can i connect it directly to the engine block where all the power grounds are connected?

Regarding the Pin 3: 12v, do you have any recommendation regarding wiring? Is it enough with a 2,5mm2 cable from the fuse, splitting in the harness to each coil?

Hope you can give me some recommendations!

Connnect ECU ground to EMU ground (black connector).
The Power grounds of the coils connect via separate wires to engine block (in the place it is easy for you).

Hello
On this side of Ray Hall is so written, using these dwell on n / a engine for two years without problems, and the engine running on 9000 rpm
This wiring and the dwell is only for this coil(036 905 715f), the other coils be wiring otherwise
