ABS to ECU by canbus

hi there,

can i wire an ITT Mark20 Plus ABS (+ is the one with canbus) directly to the ecu?
i wanted to do so because then i could use the ABS as VSS.

Hi Horsty!

For example in Mini Cooper we read wheel speed from ABS ECU via CAN Bus.
So it is possible but we need to know what CAN ID transmit wheel speed and what is the data format.

You can buy Microchip CAN BUS analyzer. It is quite chip and very helpfull

I bought canBus analyzer from microchip. Try to hook it up into canBus cable beneath steering above foot rest. But no luck. Any step by step guide doing this into bmw E46?
