@vagman: Why don't you just try it? What could happen in worst case? motor won't start or run poorly....so what!

Sorry for my late answer but I was extreamely busy last days. You will soon see why :)

In aspect of running the engine any settings for injectors phase will be ok.

To do it right you need to fire your injector pairs toogether with the coils.
It is important for wasted spark to select option squirt twice per cycyle, so the injectors pair will fire every 360 degrees

So, finally...
First of all Thank you Jakub! Yes you told me once that but the confusing thing was there are 4 inj phases (inj. pairs) to be related to 8 ign. events in that table.
Second, let me comment some of the opinions here. I wouldn't describe myself as a EFI noob. Just my friend's V8 engine is 3-4 times more expencive than the EMU Ecu. The ECU itself although wery well loaded is not cheap for local average income. I consider it's a bad idea to discover an ecu undescribed functionality on any engine. Nowhere in the manual or in the help files is described anything about the V8 wasted spark and inj. settings. My "local dealer" is few hundred km away and as I see he asks questions and post problems here on a daily basis. The higher cyl count he has ever seen is 6. What should I ask him? I would ask the man with the hudreds customers over here why he just didn't post the 8cyl inj. phase table for me ? I know every ECU has its strange and specific sofware solutions. I know releasing a new ECU is a big challenge for everyone. Especially if the engineering team is just a few people. For a new unacknowledged ecu project though, the customer support should have top priority imho. A bad support feedback is much worse than a software bug.
I DO respect what Jakub and his colleagues have done so far. It's time for prompt support though because some people just don't have much time and it's very disappointing to have to wait till the next weekend to try the adviced on the forum.

perhaps is better do proper research before asking how "wasted spark work" need to connected. even on this forum.. i can see lots of topic's asking the same questions.

If you want do do it cheaply you have to spend some time doing research try to understand how engine work this will seve money and probably will give more satisfaction. As lots of peoples stated before support here from ecumaster team is exceptionally good. and product represent excellent value for money.

pepifebles wrote:I'm making my harness. Throttle body, crank sensor and knock, each have 3 wires
I have done same engine and 4.4 before so am going to help as my time can be :)

For TPS there are 3 wires as you said GND/Signal/+5V , as in the included photo from the (MANUAL) EMU manual, so you need to connect the pin 3 on your TPS to B23 thats for the +5V and pin 2 from TPS to B12 as thats signal , finally pin 1 which is GND to B18

TPS Sensor Pin EMU Pin
1 GND -----------------> B18
2 Signal ---------------> B12
3 +5V -----------------> B23

You can use DVM to verify the TPS pins and make sure of you wiring.

For crank sensor this engine use VR primary (Crank) and VR Secondary (Cam) in your case you are going to run in wasted spark mode, so not going to need the cam sensor, if you look at the stock harness crank sensor connector you will see black wire, yellow wire, and shield wire, run these wires to the EMU connector and join the shield wire with the yellow wire (yellow wire is - VR) and connect them to EMU pin B18 the sensor GND, and connect the black wire (+VR) to the crank sensor input at EMU B7 pin

Make sure to use shielded wire for the crank sensor since its VR sensor and very sensitive to noise, I always use this cable wire from the stock BMW harness, they are high quality.

Knock sensor, well there are 4 sensors for this engine under the intake manifold, are you going to use them all? are you going to use them with EMU? or just use them for dyno session with knock detection device? its up to you, I usually dont connect knock sensors to aftermarket ECUs just for dyno sessions, but its up to you, as I dont remember if they are 3 pins or 2 pins sensors, but anyhow the black wire should be the signal wire, and the other is GND, if they were 3 use the black as signal and join the other 2 as you did in crank sensor and connect them to B18.

Hope that helps, as I suggest that you source the stock engine harness wiring diagram and read the EMU manual well before you start messing with wires.
vagman wrote:Strange, it looks very hard getting support on this forum. Not to mention the connection problems we had. So far 2 emails were sent to Jakub and 2 times asked here about simple thing! - injector phasing table on a V8. I start to think it was great mistake buying a market newcomer. Sad...
-1
I do install and tune different types of ECUs and ECUMASTER support is far than excellent comparing to other brands ;)

Sukhoi, Jakub already answered on my questions so I won't comment anymore this topic. For me personally, 12 days responce time is unacceptable.
Gregpe, I did check the whole forum and EMU manual two times at least before I posted my questions. There are just 1-2 threads with V8 spark settings information but nothing about V8 injector phase settings.
Now, I hope there is enough clear information for the next member with V8 project to start his engine from the first try.

Originally I did not want to post such OT, but I have to :x
I am wondering what´s wrong with your life that you have to bring your bad mood into this forum...
ECUMaster has the best support you will ever get anywhere. If you do not want to suffer "unacceptable support", sell your emu and buy a perfect ecu with better support

if you would understand how engine is working you wouldn't need to ask probably as i know lots of peoples use emu at v8 and if is not a lot of questions about it is probably easy to fugure out this with some BASIC knowledge .

Ok then, for crank sensor Yellow + shield to EMU B18 and black wire to EMU B7.
All my wire are stock harness ;)
Knock sensors will be disconnect. I dont use.

Thanks

pepifebles wrote:Could you tell me tps wire colour. My tps sensor have blue/white, Brown and white. What wire is signal, +5v and ground?

Regards.
Honestly I don't remember the colors, just stick to the pin numbers, they should be marked on the sensor itself

1 GND
2 Signal
3 +5V

You can use your DVM to define the pins, put the DVM probs on any two pins and rotate the TPS (open throttle) while you are measuring Ohm, if the value didn't change, that means you are on GND and Power pins, and the third is signal, then move the red prob to the third pin , if you noticed the value is decreasing that means the other prob (black) is on the GND pin if the value was increasing that means the other probe (black) is on Power pin

vagman, I believe that I was answering pepifebles, I don't know what you have in this post as I don't care, cuz am just trying to help (pepifebles) with the wiring.

it's possible get base/start map? I need it and I can pay it. On Canary Island there isnt local dealer. Nearest is to 3000 kilometers (Spain)

well, most of things are documented here, the trigger setup, the sensors and calibrations are so easy with EMU client, most are predefined, as for fuel and ignition, I have couple of maps, but these wont help you much they are tuned for raw ethanol fuel not e85, with large injectors, I suggest to try doing the file and ask here for help and support

I tried to set all I could. I've some doubts. I know that there are many but I appreciate that help me it what you can. For me its complicated.

My wiring are as follow. Do I need connect anything else?
Injectors, coils, crank sensor, TPS (M5 throttle body), wideband, ground, CLT, IAT, +5v.

Doubts:
Engine start cranking fuel 1 is neccesary to start engine?
Injector calibration. My injectors are Bosch 0280150792. How can know correct calibration?
Fuelling VE table is neccesary to start or can start engine set target AFR
Predefined coils? My coils reference is bmw 1 703 359. Bremi 11856 Bosch 0221504474. The emu options don’t match with mines.
Coil dwell time configure? I have no idea what it this.
Main relay its neccesary connect to emu?
VSS and gearbox is neccesary set to start the engine?

Thank you very much in advance.

Yes, sure... It's done already. I just don't have time and money to be a beta tester.
Good luck to you.

Thanks
