Failsafe options
Post

Hello guys,
can anyone tell me what type of failsafe options the EMU has?
In the handbook (page 35) i can see a screenshot about these sensor failsafes:
-IAT
-CLT
-MAP
Does it support fuel pressure compensation or some "lean AFR" failsafes too?
Maybe you got a list of the safety features please?
bye
Alex

Hi!
There are some more:
1 - Oil pressure cut - when the oil pressure for given RPM is lower than defined in table the engine shut off
2 - Low CLT rpm limit - limit engine rev limier when engine is cold
3 - High CLT rpm limit - limit engine rev limier when engine is hot
4 - fuel pressure fail safe limit
5 - fuel pressure delta correction - correct the injector pw due to fail of fuel pump
6 - EGT boost DC correction - can reduce boost when EGT too high
To have all these features you need to download latest software 1.060

Awesome!
Thanks for the fast answer.
PS: Are there any plans that the EMU will work with automatic transmissions too?
Like the Supra A340E/341E....

I'm so sorry but we do not know what is staregy of this automatic gearbox control.
If you have any data we can look at it and then tell if it is possible.

The A340E is a 3 speed + Overdrive transmission.
There are 2 solenoids for the gears and one for the torque converter lockup.
They will be controlled via 12V input i think.
Here is a manual for it:
http://www.japanerfusk.dk/Auto%20A340e%202JZ-GE.pdf
The 1JZ uses the same 3 solenoid setup like the 2JZ-
GE. (the 2JZ-
GTE has the A341E, it´s full electric controlled)
Look at page 72 on the left side of the table, there is the solenoid circuit description.

I think, that the main problém is, that EMu does not have too many outputs in general. For example on S54B32 BMW engine, we used every pin on EMU and its "only" N/A 6 cilinder.
And if you need to control additional 4,6 or even more solenoids, there is simply not outputs on EMU.
Idea is, to use data from EMU like TPS, load, RPM and create your own Automatic gearbox controler. I am now thinking about creating my own dash board based on comunication with EMU, and if i will finished that, it will be easy to add some outputs to control Auto gearbox.
