Is this connectivity problem related to software changes or some hardware changes ?
I'm not sure how software changes could effect the USB connection, only connection problems I've had with EMU and other USB connected ECU's is interference due to bad grounding which USB seems susceptible to.

Did you have issues with the dials? I do and cant seem to find intel open gl drivers to try to fix it, with win7 was ok.

I just opened the dasboard and added some gauges and they display OK but haven't run it on an engine. All my tuning laptops are running XP and will stay that way :D

got back to good old win7, will try in a few months again.

Feature Request: PID Boost DC direction inverting option.
My electrical wastegate actuator works that way, that an increased DC means a more open wastegate (dc controls the position of the wastegate flap).
Only inverting the "solenoid" output does not help with this issue.

So I hopefully can run closed loop boost control soon :)
Thanks guys!!!

If you select invert it will work as you wish. Think about it still as increase DC increases boost.
Well I need a decreased DC for raising the boost, but i think you got that :)

So if I select invert output, the PID does not change its positive sign?
Then I have to check that again, as last time the inverting option did not seem to do the trick.

You say its i.e.:
non inverted: DC from table = 30%
PID sees too less boost so it adds 5%
makes a calculated DC of 35%
and output DC of 35%.

and inverted output (that the flap is at the same position I need to adjust the base table) : DC from table = 70%
PID sees too less boost and still adds 5%
makes 75% calculated DC
output DC is 100 - 75 = 25%

correct?

thanks!

What can cause this?? i have tried everything the connection status just stays black (normally it says disconnected flashing red or connects solid green) and it wont connect i have updated graphics drivers... tried different SW versions.... reinstalled the usb drivers etc.... this is on my desk top computer win7 using a 12v test rig... all i get when i plug in or unplug the usb cable is the didink sound but nothing happens... all works fine on laptop.

i get this when i close the application if it means anything

Ok thank you that has fixed one problem, now it will connect!... but created another.... "device will not work with US windows"!!

(Just to clarify this is not a polish version ecu it has come directly from EcuMaster and works fine on my laptop)

PWM's for automatic transmissions

Post by RHD » Thu Aug 20, 2015 2:01 am

Feature request 1: Is it possible to add another user PWM table? or give us definable axis on the current one so we can use TPS?

I have just cracked the signals required to run all 90's model 3 series BMW Automatic transmissions (and probably most other 90's model BMWs) But one of the signals i need is PWM with DC directly related to TPS value. Even a 2D table would be fine its fixed frequency and is not affected by rpm.

This controls the shifting characteristics and very small changes in throttle position affect when the trans shifts. MAP based table does not work well. Manifold pressure changes with rpm so the trans thinks there have been more throttle changes and it either cycles back and forth between gears or it changes 2 gears at a time. Ive tried to graduate the table but the second problem is the MAP reaches 100kpa at about 40% throttle at lower rpm so all control is lost beyond this point, and the similar problems occur.

feature request 2: The second signal i need is based on injector PW this runs the economy gauge and also supplies a load signal to the Auto. All very well if we have standard injectors we can just tap any one of the injector wires but if we have bigger injectors then all is lost, for both the auto and the consumption gauge.

Is it possible to add a single fogger injector function to the staged injection??? ... bare with me...

This needs to run from any aux OP and fire with any one of the other injectors but on a tabled or set % of the main injector PW. Could be used very effectively for water or methanol injection. I have also seen people add a single injector near the throttle body somewhere to apply just a little more fuel when the main injectors are not quite big enough. I know its not ideal but the cooling affect can be beneficial and it can be a quick and easy low cost solution...

PLUS!! this function would be perfect to signal an AUTO transmission and almost ALL early BMW fuel consumption gauges when larger injectors are fitted :)

With version 1.138 both my pc are crashing, i have install version 1.138 conected to emu and upgraded firmware, all was ok for a few hours but suddenly it started crashing, took another laptop and started crashing too, i could not use version 1.137 because it wont let me as EMU was on 1.138 already.
So i have installed on my kids laptop version 1.138, downgraded firmware to 1.137 and been using in all laptops client 1.137 without problems.
to test it more i have installed again 1.138 client and it crashes even with firmware 1.137, so i guess is a client problem and not firmware.
In the event i could not install 1.138 how could i downgrade firmware to use with previous versions?

you can downgrade the ECU FW first from the 1.138 client (there should be a list of previous versions on the upgrade firmware tab) then reinstall the client to the same earlier version.

Done that but problem was i could not run 1.138 in two laptops, previous versions should allow to do at least firm upgrade/downgrade.

As far as i remember this signal is voltage signal which going from MAF dont think this is pwm..

I have had a scope on the signal, frequency matches rpm (double injector Hz) It starts about 8% low at idle then DC and Hz increases as engine load rpm goes up etc.

Feature request / Bug report: When engine is not running and ign on, he boost solenoid DC jumps between 0 and 100% irregularly.
Would it be possible to add an option to enable boost control when no rpm?

Kind regards Clem

I have a problem with my update ..
from 37 to 39
My VE table is no longer correct after dm update.
(It runs too lean)
Has anything changed or How can it be.
Thank you!

Best regards
