Cold start issues

Post by shadowlandz » Wed Nov 18, 2015 8:19 am

Hi,

I have my car mapped by Oppliger Motorsport Cosworth Specialist in Italy.

When he mapped the car, it was ±25°, so no real cold start map is done.
I live in Belgium so now we are getting temps around 5-8° and i can't get the car to start correct.
This is ofcourse 100% coldstart-mapping issue.

Is there anybody that can help me on the way to fine-tune the cold-start myself.
I will try everyday on stone-cold engine 1 or 2 crancks.

Some info:
-2.0 Turbo 550hp
-1200cc injectors
-Coil on plug with IK31 plugs
-98ron fuel

Tips and help to adjust this are welcome, the car cranks and wants to fire, but only fire's up after 3-4 attempts. After that i need to hold trottle - 2000rpm to keep it alive untill warming up.
AFR is 12.5-12.8 and sometimes drops to 11.8 and then the car dies, i don't have the knowledge to know what to adjust so it will fire up after 1 attempt :)

Here is a screenshot from the engine-start map at the moment.

there are also After start enrichment ASE and warm up enrichment you can try to play with those by raising the values in those at the temperatures that you are having trouble with

also you might look at raising the cranking fuel also a little in the colder temperatures

Please attached log file from cold start. This will help us solve your problem.

I suspect wrong injectors time in cranking fuel table (probably to short), maybe wrong warm up enrichment correction.

Hello,

Thanx for the help so far, how can i log the coldstart?

I'm new to the software and only made a few adjustments on cranking fuel with tips from the mapper, but not really improvements.

Regards

cold start means that support needs log form morning when you go to the car and try start engine, so just save log and first few minutes can tell what is happening, off course you need upload your config file (actual) to make full analysis possible ( if paid you for tune it will wise to send it via @ not post on forum, but if you want it will be appreciated :) )
