Injectors high impedance

Post by pepifebles » Sun Dec 20, 2015 4:36 pm

Hi guys
Stock injectors to my celica 3sgte are sard 540cc low-z. Yesterday I changed for sard 800cc high -z. My question is what predefined injectors have to set, id870 for example?? If I choose this high z, and set calibration table to my sard 800 my afr is too lean. However if dont modify anything runs very rich like is logic because need tune fuel maps.

Calibration Sard 800cc High Impedance
6V 2,5ms 7V 2,5ms 8V 2,4ms 9V 2,1ms 10V 1,8ms 11V 1,7ms 12V 1,6ms 13V 1,5ms 14V 1,4ms 15V 1,3ms 16V 1,2ms

if your previous injectors required a resistor then is it possible your VE table was tuned with wrong injector dead time calibration??
And now that you have changed injectors and possibly have more accurate dead time information your VE table might be not be correct anymore.

The larger the injector the more sensitive your tuning will be to having the correct dead time setting.

Also some injectors are rated with different fluids, for example ID injectors are rated using gasoline where most other injectors use an industry standard pure hexene @ 3bar which has a different flow coefficient than gasoline, thats why Injector Dynamics injectors actually have an inflated advertised flow number... better for sales i guess but not very professional in my opinion!!..... so sometimes you might need to fudge the injector size setting a little to meet the correct VE table.... same situation applies to running different fuel pressures.

Ok then I tune my ve map, but, could break my new high z injectors if I set predefined Siemens deka low z? What predefined option have to choose?

Use calibration that you attached in your first post (I assume it is for your new injectors).
You cannot break injectors with this settings.
In general the biggest difference will be on low load/RPM.

Ok, but what predefined injectors advise me choose? Ida, Bosch, Siemens deka???

you dont need to use any predefined selection that is just a wizard to help setup the calibration table for a few known injectors. You can just set/adjust the cal table manually

As I said, if I calibrate injectors, Engine runs lean, but if dont calibrate injectors Engine runs very rich. Newbie question: What its best way to get Performance? Calibrate injectors and tune up ve map or dont calibrate it and tune down ve map? Increase or decrease ve map?

Calibrate injectors, and tune. If it's lean try global multiplier on VE table first, and fine tune from there.

just a side note , i have looked , did they implement a multiply and divide on the maps ? IE click point or multiple points then * or / then a number = ? ( for adding for example 10% to a map )

Yes. Just select cells and enter 2.1* (multiply by 2.1) or 5+ (add 5) and so on...
