Support for Porsche trigger
I have installed a DET3 in my 944 turbo, but there is no support for Porsche's 132-1 trigger solution. I’m okey with not being able to alter the ignition signal, but at least I want to be able to read rpm in a correct manner. I know you have solved this for the EMU, so I and the rest of the 944 world are hoping that you implement support for this in the DET3 as well.
Is there anything I can do at the meantime to get the DET3 to read a correct rpm?

Is it possible to trigger directly off the negative side of the coil, without risking a thermal 'melt-down' of the components?
I realize ignition timing can't be controlled this way, but fuel should be fine -right?

Hi Doable!
Please ty to download latest version of DET3 software 1.30.
There is new ignition mode Read RPM. You can enter number of tooth per revolution (135 in your case) and DET3 will be able to read RPMs.

It is hard to say. For example the base ignition table in ECU is prepared for 95 octan fuel of bad qulity. If you use 98 octan high quality fuel and your mixture will be richer that factory one it could work.
But if you added turbocharger you have to be able to retard ignition.

Yesterday, I upgraded the firmware to 1.30 and tried the 'Read RPM' mode with the given settings, but sadly I didn't get it to work. RPM was always 0. Am I missing something?

Are you sure that DET3 is connected to the VR sensor ?

Do the teeth have to be equi-distant in this mode ? I mean can they be very non-uniformly placed like every 30 and 90 degrees ?

Can be non uniform. It counts the declared numbers of teeth, and based on time calculate RPM.
