Supra with EMU ecu:help thread

Post by 1badheadgasket » Thu Oct 16, 2014 3:50 pm

I have been having a few ongoing questions with installing my ecu. I decided it was time to make a thread here for my questions. Hopefully it will help future users, and myself with getting things going trouble free.

The car the ecu is going into is a MK3 supra with a 7mgte engine in it. I am in the process of building my own engine harness, and bought the EMU wiring kit. For the most part it is pretty straight forward, but there are some questions I am running into, and I rather build the harness once and do it right rather than have to unloom everything after its together and restart.

The question on top of my head right now is can I use both high and low impedance injectors with the ecu its self and no resistor box? I know I was reading around a little bit in the manual, and I believe I could use a pull up resistor to be able to use low impedance injectors. Is that right? My tuner is recommending I go with High impedance injectors, so in that case I can just plug in the injectors an go is that correct?

I will try to update this thread with my wiring schematics I made along with the questions I have already ran by Zach along with the answers he has given me, and any further questions since I know I will have many. I may throw up some pictures too if you are lucky too. :)

Hi.

Use high impedance for its simplicity och low impedance with resistors.
Im always using high impedance deachwerks or bosch upp to 1300cc.

I plan to run something like FIC 2150 injectors if possible(pretty close to the largest high impedance injectors out there). Just need to make sure I can get ones to fit my rail and make sure i can find them in high impedance.
