Problem setting up gear ratios in FV 1.184

I posted this on the facebook page, but figured I would post it in here as well just in case anyone had any ideas over here too.

Backstory is I have a R53 Mini Cooper S running the plug and play EMU standalone and CAN-BUS adapter and harness to make the car's factory can controlled dash display the proper information. Since I have done a turbo conversion and am now running a MAC 3-port solenoid valve to control boost, I would like to set up boost per gear in order to keep my higher gears in line and not overboost because of engine load. Since there is a lovely option for scaling the Duty Cycle table by percentage, I want to take advantage of it. Easier said than done apparently.

I brought up the tables that control VSS and Gearbox and tried to set them up according to my setup. Detection type is "Calculated" and Speed Source is "Can wheel speed". When I view the log table for VSS and Gears, it shows I am always in 1st gear, and the ratio is always 0.00 no matter how I try to adjust. I even tried doing the math myself for the gear ratios in Sensor Setup for gears 1 through 6, and that didn't make a difference either. No matter what I do, even during logging, gear always stays at 1, VSS always is 0, and the log will show kph for speed with no issue at all, and all 4 wheels will show wheel speed to match as well.

Since it does show vehicle speed and the input is for Can wheel speed, I'm assuming all the other sensor setup parameters shouldn't apply, but apparently I think it's still looking for a non-existent VSS signal to calculate gearing.

Any ideas or perhaps something I missed?

go for a drive going up all the gears and log it, then open the "gear ratio" trace and enter the value for each gear in the gear ratio settings

same thing with my R53, I watched my logs and "gear ratio" value shows always zero while RPM and vehicule speed are correctly recorded.
