Hi, i am working on Renault Clio using stock flywheel 44-2-2 but we removed already the stock distributor. We use external Bosch coilpack 2x2 (so waste spark) + tryed to run it with Hall sensor. The question is .....

1) are we able to run this 44-2-2 mode without distributor ?
2) do we need the cam sync ?

I found, that this mode does not really well respond on "Trigger angle" in primary trigger setting, and sometimes it want start, but next try it catches up instantly....

So what may be wrong ?

You cannot run this engine in wasted spark and only ckp trigger.
Use 60-2 or CAM sync
