Supra NA to Coil swap Tach question

Post by ihiryu » Sat May 07, 2016 12:52 am

So a few guys are using NA-T builds and have gone over to coils (which I have done as well for a customer), but now I have no tach output.

Doing some digging and I came across this:

So I haven't pulled the tachometer just yet, but I have went from Aux 4 to Pin 29, and I still get no tach reading. Is there something I'm missing or should I go ahead and just pull the tacho?

You'll probably need to pull the tach and make the modification. I don't know off the top of my head what kind of signal the GE ignitor output, but I do know there's a difference between the NA and TT tachs. The only way to know would've been to scope the signal before you removed the GE ignitor, but it's too late for that.

Yeah you have to do it, just got done wiring it up, and it all works now.
